Geographic Origin: Originates from the southeast Chinese provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Adult size: 4.5 to 7 metres in height.

Characteristics and uses: The canes of the Phyllostachys aureosulcata f. "Aureocaulis" are yellow/orange. At the base of the plant the stems have a characteristic "zig-zag" shape. Ideal when planted as part of a hedge or in clumps. The leaves are dark green sometimes with white stripes. Its comportment is upright. Its stems are yellow (during the first year they can be red), it is covered with a coarse down.
