Everything about: Clematis 'Mme Lecoultre'

Clematis 'mme lecoultre' - Clematis 'mme lecoultre' (latin)

Area of origin: Northern hemisphere.
Adult dimensions: Height up to 4 metres.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil Type: Any, moist and well drained.
Hardiness: Hardy to -20°C.
Exposure: Light shade to full sun.

Properties and uses:
Also called Mademoiselle Boisselot (her maiden name), this clematis is resplendent with its white flowers from June to October. They are more than twenty centimetres in diameter and lend themselves to being displayed in vases as cut flowers.
It thrives as well on fences and pergolas as around shrubs and hedges, even along wire fencing.
It goes well with any other coloured Clematis but our favourite partnership here at Planfor is with Dr Ruppel...
It likes to have its roots in the shade and its head in the sun. It will thrive on a light regular watering and a mulch of bark chippings. Pruning will allow it to develop its branches and reinvigorate after very cold winters.
