Area of origin: South eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Asia Minor. Introduced in 1759.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 5m (16.4'), width up to 4m (13').
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil Type:All.
Hardiness: Hardy to -24°C.
Exposure: Full sun and semi-shade.

Characteristics and Uses:
Very beautiful autumnal colours that turn from yellow, to orange to scarlet. This little tree grows quickly and is ideal in any garden, within hedges or planted alone. Bonsai enthusiasts enjoy working with this species.
