Characteristics and uses:
The Catalpa bungei is ideal in a small garden or near a terrace, thanks to its slow development. Its large heart- shaped leaves bring welcome shade on sunny days. In summer, it has beautiful scented pink-purplish blossom. Finally, its grey-brown bark, which splits on the older wood, gives a decorative touch to this Catalpa even in winter.

Other Catalpa:
Southern Catalpa (Catalpa bignonioides), This tree has very large leaves up to 25cm (9.8") and is an excellent tree for providing shade. Height up to 15 m.
