Abundant white flowers in April and May before the leaves. The leaves turn beautiful autumnal colours of orange and red. These characteristics make it a tree that is particularly interesting for parks and gardens, planted alone or in a group.

The seeded fruits the size of peas and a brown-purple colour are sweet.
