The Chilean Fire bush evokes with its name only a travel into unknown lands. This small tree has a spreading shape, a leathery dark green to bluish-green foliage. Under our latitudes, it covers itself with attractive to bees, clusters of tubular-shaped, crimson red flowers at the end of the spring (In its natural habitat, blossom takes place from November to March).
In the Andes, its leaves and bark are traditionally used to treat wounds and calm toothache as they are thought to have antiseptic properties.
