Tarragon or dragon's wort - Artemisia dracunculus (latin)

Geographical origines: Centre of Europe. Southern Russia.
Adult dimensions: Height of approximately 0.80 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous. Narrow plain leaves in a dark shade of green.
Type of soil: Moist and light, rich in organic matter.
Hardiness: Hardy to -15°C.
Exposure: Full sun.


Properties and uses:
Tarragon is a small rounded shrub. Its leaves can be used fresh, dried or finely chopped to add flavour to dishes and vinegar based preserves.
The tarragon plant has numerous stems that branch out, narrow leaves and is a hardy perennial. It will thrive in the middle of your aromatic herb garden.
