Bamboo Phyllostachys vivax f. huangwenzhu

Geographic Origin: Originates from China, it grows mainly in the province of Henan.
Adult size: 8.5 to 12.5 m. in height (can vary depending on its situation).

Foliage: Evergreen.
Type of soil: Moist and deep. Does not like excessive chalk.

Properties and uses:
This bamboo has green ribbed canes with a yellow groove. Its leaves are medium sized and green. It has an arched shape.
The canes are best shown off when the bamboo is planted in single clumps.
It thrives in full sun but is susceptible to cold winds. Its young shoots are edible. It was introduced into Europe in 1992. It still remains quite rare in Europe.
