Corsican Spurge (Euphorbia myrsinites), also called Myrtle Spurge, is a perennial plant appreciated for its ornamental qualities and its ease of cultivation.

Horticultural and landscaping qualities:

  • Hardiness and adaptability: This is a very robust and low-maintenance plant. Extremely hardy, it tolerates temperatures down to -22 °C. It is also drought-tolerant and thrives in poor, rocky and chalky soil if drainage is good.

  • Foliage and flowering: Its evergreen foliage is its main characteristic. The plant has sprawling stems, and the leaves are spirally arranged, fleshy, and pale glaucous bluish green in colour. In spring (from March to May-June), the flowers are inconspicuous but surrounded by bright sulphur-yellow bracts.

  • Uses: This sprawling plant is a perfect groundcover, ideal for rockeries, stone walls, gravel gardens, or borders.
