Fragaria ananassa 'Colossus', Giant Strawberry - Fragaria × ananassa Colossus (latin)

Adult dimensions: Height up to 15 cm, width up to 20 cm.
Foliage: Evergreen- Perennial.
Type of soil: Rich in humus, acid to neutral.
Hardiness: Hardy to -15°C.
Site: Full sun.
Plantation density: 2 to 3 per m².

Properties and uses:
The Strawberry plant is a perennial appreciated for its abundant production of small fruits. It is also used as a ground covering plant, or to ornate flowerbeds in an original way.

The strawberries are gathered when they are bright red and come away easily. They are fragile and don’t keep very long. They are rich in vitamins and low in calorie, so they are the perfect summer fruit. Excellent for fresh eating, jams, fruit purées, tarts, they will delight the young and adults alike!

Before the winter frost, cut your strawberry plants to a 5 cm height to allow them to go happily through winter.

The Wild Strawberry Framberry (strawberry-raspberry) is delightful as it combines the tastes of strawberries and raspberries. It produces round, juicy, sweet tasting fruits. The unusual taste of these strawberries will go marvellously well with the other strawberries of the garden.
