Area of origin: Mountains of South Western United States up to 3000m altitude. Introduced in 1877.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 25 m (82'), width up to 7m (23').
Foliage: Evergreen.
Soil Type: Dislikes lime.
Hardiness: Hardy to -36°C.
Exposure: Full sun.

Widely planted in parks, and small and large gardens and enjoyed for its bluish foliage and average speed of growth. Bonsai enthusiasts like working with this beautiful tree.
