Soil type: Well-drained, fertile, light, tolerant to poor soils
Hardiness: Hardy to -10°C
Exposure: Full sun

Properties and uses:
Argentinian Vervain (Verbena bonariensis) is a tall, hardy, abundant-bloomer perennial. It is well appreciated for its elegant and ethereal blooming. The tall stems are topped by flattened heads of small purple flowers, which bloom from June to the first frost. They attract many pollinators such as butterflies and bees.

Argentinian Vervain is easy to grow and perfect for bringing height to flowerbeds, prairie-style gardens and rockeries. The plant will self-seed freely and is not demanding in care. Cut a minimum of stems at the end of the season to encourage next year’s blooming.
As it is drought tolerant, it is perfect for Mediterranean gardens or dry locations.
