Description: Bleeding heart

Bleeding Heart - Dicentra spectabilis (latin)

Adult dimensions: Height up to 60 cm, width up to 50 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Rich, moist and well drained. Avoid chalky soil.
Hardiness: Hardy to -20°C.
Side: Mid-shade.
Plantation density: 6 / m².


Properties and uses:
The Bleeding Heart is a perennial, which will produce superb chains of white and pink heart shaped flowers from April right through to June.
Magnificent in pot on your terrace, or in your garden.
It is also an easy plant to look after: you only need to cut the flowering stems after blossoming and to fold down the foliage at the end of Autumn.
