Properties and uses:
Hemerocallis, also known as Daylily, is one of the hardiest perennials and a prolific bloomer. The Red Daylily blooms in summer, and its large, red and yellow flowers are beautiful. Although it is often recommended to plant it in dry soil as it is drought tolerant, the plant thrives in moisture. Daylily can be planted in all gardens, in pots or in open ground, in flowerbeds or to create flowery borders.
Hemerocallis is an excellent flower for bouquet making and is largely used by florists.
Maintenance tip: Cut the flower stems after the blooming. Clean the stump as soon as the flower production is finished and at the end of winter. Spread mulch to keep the soil moist.
