The California Black Oak is an Oak tree mainly used as an ornamental tree in the USA, and is still largely unknown in Europe. Its young foliage is reddish-pink, before becoming light green, then orangey-yellow in the autumn.
Planted on its own, the California Black Oak is majestic. It can also be grown in a line but not too close to buildings.
It is also an excellent candidate in forestry, in all areas which have a likelihood of wildfire as it has a good capacity of regrowth after a fire.
