Mauve Bougainvillea, Paper Flower - Bougainvillea glabra malva (latin)

Geographic origins: Brazil.
Adult size: Height up to 5 metres, width up to 5 metres.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Rich, light and well drained.
Hardiness: Hardy to -5°C. It is advisable to protect from frost in the winter.
Exposure: Full sun.

Properties and uses:
The Bougainvillea is a climber with luxuriant blossom from May right through to November. Although its small, white flowers are rather insignificant, they are surrounded by showy, mauve bracts at their base that produce the spectacle.
You can plant your Bougainvillea in the ground if you live in an area which does not freeze in winter. In all other areas, it is best to grow it in a pot and keep it in winter at temperature between 10 and 15°C.
