Spanish Broom, Weaver's Broom - Spartium junceum (latin)

Area of origin: Southern Europe, Crimea, Western Asia, Northern Africa.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 3m (9,8') width up to 2m (6,6').
Foliage: Evergreen.
Soil Type: All except for very wet.
Hardiness: Hardy. Take care in winter if temperature reaches -18°C.
Exposure: Full sun.


Properties and uses:
Lovely golden yellow perfumed flowers from June to September. Can be planted alone, in a group or within a flowerbed. It also often planted within flowering hedges, windbreak hedges, in coastal areas and to stabilise embankments alongside roads.
