Properties and uses:
Red Valerian is a perennial that thrives in chalky, dry and well-drained soils. The scented red flowers bloom from the end of May throughout summer. Fading flowers should be cut back to avoid self-seeding.
Valerian is a hardy, drought tolerant perennial that grows well in the sun. The roots may rot if the soil is too wet.
