Iceland Poppy - Papaver nudicaule (latin)

Properties and uses:
The Iceland poppy is a biennial plant ideal for flower beds, rock gardens, borders, and cut flowers. Borne on slender upright stems above divided foliage, its crinkled, silky-textured flowers offer a blend of warm tones (lemon yellow, orange, white, blush pink).

  • Spectacular blooming: Brightens up borders and rockeries from early spring to late summer.
  • Exceptional cut flower: Harvest in bud to create stunning bouquets with remarkable vase life.
  • Easy to grow: Very hardy plant requiring minimal maintenance once established, though it dislikes stagnant moisture in winter.
  • Attracts pollinators: Its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and the season's first butterflies.

Care instructions:
Regularly deadhead spent flowers to encourage new blooms. Leave a few seed heads to dry at the end of the season if you wish to allow self-seeding.
