Bamboo Phyllostachys bambusoides Tanakae

Geographic Origin: It originates from China, where it grows in the valleys between the Yellow river and the Yangtze.
Adult size: 5.5 to 10.5 metres in height.
Diameter of cane: 4 to 8 cm.

Type of soil: Moist and deep. Does not like excessive chalk.

Properties and uses:
The canes of this bamboo are speckled (green canes with black spots). It has green leaves and an upright form. This bamboo is best planted in groups.
Its main charm comes from its speckled canes, the Anglo - Saxons call it the: "spotted bamboo", and the Chinese call it: "banzhu", which translates as the bamboo with spots. It is a bamboo that appreciates full sun.
