Characteristics and uses:
The Fuchsia Regia ‘Reitzii’, commonly called Royal Fuchsia, produces pretty, pendant, red to purple flowers. This perennial is prized for its colourful summer blooming of elegant and refined, bell-shaped flowers.
It is the only Fuchsia that produces edible, purplish black berries. The pulp is sweet with a light bitter aftertaste which works well in jams.
In a flowerbed or in a pot, the Fuchsia is a good landscape choice to bring bright colours to your garden.
Cut back the previous year’s stems at the end of winter to stimulate development of strong new growth.
