Everything about: Sewer vines

Sewer vines - Paederia lanuginosa (latin)

Geographic Origin: Far East, Asia
Adult size: Up to 3 metres in height.
Foliage: Semipersistent
Type of soil: Humus rich and well-drained
Climate: Hardy to -8°C, protect from cold winds
Exposure: Full sun.

Characteristics and Uses:
The Paederia Lanuginosa is a perennial ground covering plant, or it can also be trained. The plant is edible, and the freshly cut young leaves have a strong cheese flavour, much like the Camembert flavour. The leaves are mainly used in Asian recipes but are not yet well-known in the European gastronomy.
It is a very decorative plant with its green foliage underlined with purple, and its pink and white flowers, giving way to small round fruits. Very interesting as a ground covering plant or trained in pot.
