Everything about: Vine, Grape with blue grapes

Grape Vine with blue grapes - Vitis vinifera caeruleum (latin)

Geographical origins: Horticulture
Adult sizes: Height between 2 and 3 m
Foliage: Deciduous
Type of soil: Any loamy, well-drained soils
Climate: Hardy to -14°C.
Site: Full sun

Properties and uses:
The grape vine with blue grapes is an ancient variety. Today, it is widely cultivated and easily turned into wine. This vine produces small, juicy, blue grapes, which sweet flavour reminds that of the Vitis Fragola – a grape with a strawberry flavour.
It is quite an interesting variety, for it is cold and disease resistant.

Our advice:
This Vine should be planted between October and November, and pruned in early winter, to get rid of the shoots which bore fruits during the season. Do not hesitate to cut off some leaves during the summer, to encourage the fruit production.

Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!
