Summer Wisteria - Millettia Reticulata Japonica (latin)

Geographical origin: Asia
Adult dimensions: Height up to 4 m, width up to 3 m
Foliage: Semi-persistent
Type of soil: Rich and well drained.
Hardiness: Hardy to -5°C
Exposure: Full sun.

Properties and uses:
The Summer Wisteria has recently been introduced in our European gardens.
The pinnate shiny green leaves last through winter in the regions with a mild climate and when planted in sheltered sites.
The lush and highly scented summer blooming lasts until November. The clusters of dark red-violet flowers offer a beautiful contrast to the dark foliage.
The slow growth of this vine will facilitate the training of the branches along supports, and they will grow more powerful once in place.
The Millettia seeds produce oil which has different uses (industry, pharmaceuticals, biofuel...).
