Abyssinian Banana - Musa maurelli, Ensete Maurelii (latin)

Properties and uses:
The Abyssinian Banana tree is a tropical perennial fast growing plant, of the Banana (Musa) family.
With its unusual red to purple foliage, this banana tree adapts well to our latitudes, but the foot has to be protected from temperatures below -5°C. In the coldest regions, it is advised to grow the plant in a container for an easier wintering.
