Pink evening primrose 'Siskiyou - Oenothera 'Siskiyou' (latin)

Geographical origins: United States

Properties and uses:
The pink evening primrose 'Siskiyou' (Oenothera 'Siskiyou') is a ground-covering perennial, ideal for brightening up the sunniest and driest areas of your garden. Unlike the standard species, which tends to open in the evening, the 'Siskiyou' variety blooms fully during the day, making it perfect for adding a splash of color to arid slopes, rock gardens, or flower bed borders.

  • Abundant and fragrant blooms: From June to October, it produces a multitude of large, pearly pink flowers delicately veined with a deeper pink, opening to reveal a bright yellow center. Highly attractive to pollinators, they release a light, fresh, and citrusy scent.
  • Highly resilient: Once established, it is extremely drought-tolerant. It is the perfect candidate for gravel gardens or challenging slopes.
  • Low-maintenance ground cover: With its spreading, compact, and dense habit, it quickly forms a green carpet that effectively suppresses weed growth.

The pink evening primrose 'Siskiyou' pairs beautifully with lavender, gaura, or low-growing ornamental grasses for a natural and modern garden style. Grown in a container on a patio, its gently cascading habit also looks stunning.
