Japanese Witch Hazel 'Diane' - Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diane' (latin)

Geographical origins: Japan, China and Northern America.
Adult size: Height up to 4 m, spread up to 3 m.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Non-calcareous, cool and rich.
Climate: Hardy to -20°C. Sensitive to excessive heat in the summer.
Site: Favour partial shade.

Characteristics and uses:
The Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diane' has a not very fragrant, brick-red blossom. Its foliage is orangey-red in the autumn.

And the mystery does not stop there as the flowers appear in the heart of winter, as soon as temperatures get positive, brightening up the shrub with strange petals which have a light fragrance. A surprising sight in the morning frost! The Japanese witch hazel will be a focal point again in the autumn, with its yellow, red, orangey and copper shades. Plant it on its own or in a flowering bed, along a walkway so that you can enjoy it fully.
