Properties and uses:
Calocedrus Decurrens, also known as Incense Cedar or California Incense Cedar, is a tall coniferous tree well appreciated for its elegant bearing and fragrant foliage. The Cedar is an ornamental tree for parks and large gardens (alone or in groups), sometimes planted in alignments. The wood is light and scented, and has been used for ages to make pencils, interior paneling, and framework.

On the other hand, Calocedrus Decurrens is an interesting forest species for several reasons, but mainly for its resilience and the quality of its wood. It shows good tolerance to heat and drought, making it a promising species in the context of climate change, particularly on dry, limestone soils where other species might suffer.
