Osakazuki Japanese maple - Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' (latin)

Area of origin: Japan
Adult Dimensions: height up to 4m, width up to 5m
Foliage: Deciduous
Soil Type: Acidic to neutral. Well-drained, moist, light and organically rich.
Hardiness: Hardy to -15°C.
Exposure: Semi-shade to full sun.


Properties and uses:
The Japanese Maple Osakazuki’s light green foliage turns to blood red at the end of the summer, and all through autumn.
A shaded area, protected from the winds, and a moist ground will protect its sensitive foliage from sun burns.
It is generally planted alone, and is appreciated by Bonsai fans.
