Area of origin : Mediterranean region, north Africa and the Canary Islands.
Adult Dimensions : Height up to 3 m (9.8'), width up to 2 m (6.6').
Foliage : Evergreen.
Soil Type : All except too wet.
Hardiness : Tolerant to - 8°C.
Exposure : Full sun.


Properties and uses:
the little edible fruits are red and then become black when ripe. Exudes yellow turpentine and the smell is known as “ the mastic of chio”. Used in its areas of origin within country hedges.
