Everything about: Pachira Plant

Pachira Plant, Malabar Chestnut - Pachira aquatica (latin)
Indoor plant

Recommended temperature: 12 to 22°C.
Hygrometry: Humid atmosphere.
Site: Full sun.
Geographical origins: Tropical Africa.
Adult sizing: Height up to 2m.
Growth: Quick.

Properties and uses:
The Pachira will appeal to you thanks to its luxuriant foliage. Easy to grow, it thrives in bright places. It is also found sometimes grown as a Bonsai.

Looking after advice:

- Plan for regular watering, letting the earth ball dry out in between.
- Mist the foliage regularly when the surrounding air is too dry.
- From March to October, give it a suitable liquid fertiliser once a month and reduce watering in winter.
- Re-Potting is done every two years, in spring, in a slightly bigger pot in a mix of free-draining potting compost and sand.
