Properties and uses:
The Lemon Verbena is a pleasant little shrub with a lanceolate, pale green foliage. It emits a strong smell of lemon when creased between the fingers. Its leaves are used either fresh or dried, in various culinary preparations for their lemony scent, or in infusions. Not very hardy under our climate, it is best to grow the Lemon Verbena in a greenhouse, or kept protected in a veranda over winter. Lastly, this plant keeps mosquitoes at bay.
