Oriental Cherry 'Kanzan' - Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan' (latin)

Geographic origin: Japan.
Adult dimensions: Height up to 12 m, width up to 7 m.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Rich and well drained.
Hardiness: Hardy to -15°C.
Exposure: Full sun.

Properties and uses:
The oriental cherry symbolizes a fleeting moment; it is a tree that is particularly celebrated by the Japanese who hold a festival in its honour. It is also the emblem of the Samurai.
Masses of pinkish white flowers appear in April as soon as the warm weather arrives. In the autumn, its golden foliage will provide your garden with a last glimmer of colour. Even its orange bark, which is smooth and shiny, will add a touch of originality throughout the winter.
It is usually planted alone or in rows.
