Characteristics and uses:
The Witch Hazel ‘Yamina’ has a very distinctive foliage, turning first chocolate brown then bright red in September. A beautiful autumn foliage and winter blossom of yellow flowers make this bush a good asset for your garden.
In the flower language, the Hamamelis means ‘You bewitch me…’ It is a very mysterious plant whose flowers appear only in late winter, when the temperatures start to rise again, illuminating the shrub with unusual, lightly fragrant, golden yellow petals. Quite a surprising sight in the morning frost.
Next time the Hamamelis will give a show is in autumn with hues of yellow, red, orange and copper.
Plant it alone or in a flowerbed, not far from sight to enjoy it most.
