Everything about: Apricot tree Tardif de Tarbes'

Apricot tree 'Tardif de Tarbes' - Prunus armeniaca 'Tardif de Tarbes' (latin)

Geographic origin: Central Asia and the Orient.
Adult size: Height 4 to 5 metres, width 4 metres.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: All, except very damp.
Climate: Hardy to -20°C.
Position: Full sun.
Pollinators: Self-fertile.

Properties and uses:
The Apricot tree is appreciated for its small orange-flesh, sweet and tasty fruit. The white or pink flowers bloom before the budding of the leaves. As soon as the first flowers bloom, make sure to protect the tree from the frost, as it would jeopardize the fruit production. Pruning the tree every year helps lightening the tree. Watering is necessary with dry weather, especially the first year. Bring fertilizer regularly.

Apricot ‘Tardif de Tarbes’: excellent tardy variety (blooming end of March/April), the fruit is ripe by the end of July. The fruit is big, yellow-orangey, juicy, sweet firm flesh. They are perfect to eat right out of the tree, in pastry or in jam.

Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!
