Characteristics and uses:
Lemongrass is an aromatic herb widely used in Asian dishes and is also popular for its essential oil. This herb can be planted directly into the ground or in pot, providing you regularly supply it with some biological fertilizer. It has to be brought in in winter and kept ideally at a temperature of between 5 and 10°C. Lemongrass does not need any particular care but you can cut back the clump at the end of summer if it becomes too voluminous. You can use the bulbous stems of between one to two centimetres to add an exquisite flavour to your dishes.
