Description: Gaura lindheimeri Bicolor

Gaura Lindheimeri Bicolor - Gaura lindheimeri bicolor (latin)

Geographical origins: United States.
Adult dimensions: Height up to 1.5 meters, width up to 1 meter.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil type: Neutral, preferably dry and poor.
Climate: Hardy down to at least -20°C.
Exposure: Partial shade to full sun.


Properties and uses:
Bring lightness and color to your flower beds with this must-have perennial. Its two-tone pink and white flowers, borne on long flexible stems, sway in the slightest breeze to offer a rustic display from early summer until the first frosts. The two-tone Lindheimer's gaura is highly versatile; it can be planted on its own, in flower beds, along borders, or even in a large pot on a balcony.

  • Continuous flowering: produces a multitude of flowers from June to October.
  • Low-maintenance and hardy: highly drought-tolerant once established, withstands frost down to -20 °C.
  • Minimal upkeep: ideal for beginner gardeners or low-maintenance gardens.
  • Pollinators attractor: attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators throughout the season.

Care advice:
At the end of the flowering period, cut the gaura back to 10 cm above the ground to stimulate vigorous new growth in spring. However, make sure to leave a few stems so it can self-seed naturally to ensure its sustainability.
