Type of soil: All, except very cold soils.

Properties and uses:
The flat peach – also called the Doughnut/Donut peach or Saturn peach – is delicious with its white, juicy sweet flesh! The peach tree thrives in temperate climate. It does not like cold and prefers heat and sun.
The pink flowers appear in spring, and then give way to delicious fruit ripened by the sun.
The peach tree can suffer from the ‘peach leaf curl’, so it needs preventive treatment after the leaves falling and just before the next blossoming. It must be closely controlled because it can be attacked by other pests or diseases.
Finally, the peach tree requires a regular pruning to remain strong and productive, and because the branches that bear fruit soon die afterwards.

Flat white peach ‘Saturn’: self-fertile variety, good production and good vigor. The peaches are medium in size, the skin is red and white, the flesh is white, sweet and juicy. The fruits mature in August.

Plant them now: the shortest way to your plate is through your garden!
