Spanish Fir - Abies pinsapo (latin)

Area of origin : Spain (region of Ronda) between 1200m and 1800m (1312 and 1965 yds). Introduced in 1839.
Adult Dimensions : Height up to 20 m (65.6'), width up to10 m (32.8').
Foliage : Evergreen.
Soil Type : Dislikes lime.
Hardiness : Hardy tolerant to -18°C but can be sensitive to severe winters.
Exposure : Full sun.


Properties and uses:
The short rigid needles are grey-green to blue and grow around the branch. This is a very beautiful tree for a park or large garden with a conical growth and can be found grown often in avenues.
