Foliage: Deciduous
Soil Type: Avoid too much lime.
Hardiness: Hardy to -34°C.
Exposure: Full sun for the best flowering.

 Characteristics and Uses: The common lilac is an upright shrub essential in any garden. The common lilac blossoms in April and May with extremely fragrant long panicles. The flowers are magnificent in bouquets.  Planted alone, in a group or mixed within a hedge or flowerbed the lilac will easily find a place in your garden.
