Characteristics and uses : Right from the start of spring, daffodils will put on a beautiful display of flowers.

Plant them between September and December with the point facing upwards, about 15 cm deep and between 10 cm and 15 cm apart. Water just after planting.

Daffodils can be planted in clumps either in the border or rockery. Give them a little fertilizer every year. Wait for their leaves to fully die down before cutting it. You can also plant your daffodils in pots or tubs. Keep them cool until the first shoots appear, then you can bring them inside so that you can fully appreciate their lovely colour and delicate scent. For bouquets, cut the base of the stems whilst keeping the leaves as soon as the flowers start to open. Never put daffodils and tulips together in the same vase as they are poisonous to each other.
