Preziosa Hydrangea - Hydrangea macrophylla serrata 'Preziosa' (latin)

Area of origin: Japan and Korea.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 1.2m (3.9'), width up to 1m (3.3').
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil Type: Wet and well drained. Enrich if too poor. Dislikes lime.
Hardiness:Hardy.
Exposure: Semi-shade to full sun.


Properties and uses:
The lilac flowers of this hydrangea become dark red at the end of flowering. They will illuminate the garden from July to October. The little leaves become tinted red in autumn. Hydrangeas are well known for brightening the northern aspect of buildings and can just as well be used under trees, in flowerbeds or mixed groups. Can be used for creating beautiful dried floral arrangements.
