Area of origin: Mexico, Central America.
Full grown size: From 90 to 160 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil type: Moist and rich.
Hardiness: Not hardy (lift the tubers out in winter).
Exposure: Full sun.
Characteristics and uses:
The Dahlia flower will be the star of your garden this summer.
The dormant tubers are planted out in the spring, from February to end of May, and offer you a display of magnificent flowers from the summer through to the first frosts.
Dahlias like to be watered when it is hot, their roots kept in the shade and their heads in the sun.
Dead- heading on a regular basis will promote the apparition of new blooms and staking is a must for the tallest varieties.
