Description: Cactus, rose pincushion

 Rose Pincushion Cactus - Cactus mammillaria zeilmanniana (latin)

Area of origin: Mexico.
Adult Dimensions: Up to 8cm in diameter and up to 12 cm in height.
Soil Type: Avoid too much moisture, provide extra drainage if necessary.  Dislikes lime. 
Exposure:  Good sunlight but not burning heat.
Watering: In winter, none summer generously.
Over-wintering: Maintain at temp between 0 and 5°C and avoid environments that are too wet. 


Characteristics and Uses: This little round cactus produces beautiful white or red-purple flowers in summer.  The flowers can measure up to 2cm in diameter and are followed by green to pink fruits less than 1cm long.
