Description: Cactus, bristle brush

 Bristle Brush Cactus - Cacto mammillaria spinosissima (latin)

Area of origin: Mexico.
Adult Dimensions: Up to 7 cm in diameter and up to 30 cm in height.
Soil Type: Avoid too much moisture, provide extra drainage if necessary.  Dislikes lime. 
Exposure:  Good sunlight but not burning heat.
Watering: In winter, none summer generously.
Over-wintering: Maintain at temp between 0 and 5°C and avoid environments that are too wet.  Can sometimes tolerate temperatures to -4°C if sheltered.



Characteristics and Uses: This little round cactus produces beautiful and abundant flowers in summer.  The little flowers can measure up to 1cm in diameter, and are followed by red or green fruits.
