Sanda Brussel Sprout - Brassica oleracea gemmifera (latin)

Middle-sized variety (80 to 100 cm).
This Sprout is very cold resistant, not demanding and with a good yield.
The sprouts are green, firm and quite big. The grapes of buds develop under the leaves stem.


Type of soil: Preferably light, moist, and well-drained. (avoid nitrogen-rich amendment, which reduces the sprouts size)
Sowing time: From March to May.
Harvest time: From October to April.
Site: Full sun.


Sowing technique:
- Sow in rows ½ cm deep and 20 cm apart.
- Transplant 6 to 8 weeks after sowing, keeping seedlings 60 cm apart.
- Protect from flea beetle when growing.


Care:
- Water generously during summer.
- Hoe frequently.
- Protect from caterpillars.
- Harvest from October and all winter progressively as needed.
