'Fin de Meaux' Pickling Cucumber - Cucumis sativus (latin)

Hardy, vigorous ancient French variety.
It gives a good early yield.
The fruit is tender, delicate and has only a few thorns.
The flesh is thick, firm, crunchy and has a good flavour.


Type of soil: Moist, loose and humus rich.
Sowing time: From April to June.
Harvest time: From July to September.
Site: Full sun.


Sowing technique:
- Sow 5/6 seeds together 1 cm deep and 30 cm apart, in rows 80 cm apart.
- Keep 2 plants every 30 cm, three weeks after growing.
- Keep only the strongest plant six weeks after growing.


care:
- Water generously, avoid watering the leaves.
- Hoe frequently.
- Spread mulch at the feet to keep moist and encourage a good crop.
- Harvest every 4 or 5 days, keeping the peduncle for better conservation.
