Everything about: Paris market carrot

Paris market carrot - Daucus carotta (latin)

It is a very early carrot, fast-growing of the Grelot type and suited for growing in containers.
It forms a round and smooth root with an obtuse end.
The flesh is tender, sweet, and savoury.
It has a surprising aspect, and some people attribute a honey flavour to it.
Little extra: it does not need to be peeled.

Type of soil: Deep and rich. Preferably sandy. Adapts to compacted soil.
Sowing time: From February to July.
Harvest time: From June to November.
Site: Full sun.

Sow directly into the ground:
- Sow in rows 1 cm deep and 10 cm apart. Cover with sand or light soil.
- The first time you thin out, keep one seedling every 2 to 3 cm.
- Thin out again 10 days later, keeping one seedling every 6 to 9 cm.
- Hoe and water regularly.

Care:
- Water every week, and dilute woodfire ashes in the water to fight against the carrot fly
