'Coquille de Louviers' Lamb's Lettuce - Valerianella locusta (latin)

Cold resistant variety, fast growing.
This Corn Salad has round, spoon-shaped, dark green leaves.
Can be eaten fresh in salads or cooked like spinach.
Better harvested before the first frost.


Type of soil: Moist and rich.
Sowing time: From July to October.
Harvest time: From October to February.
Site: Partial shade, can be planted between rows of bigger plants.


Sow directly into the ground:
- In 1cm deep furrows, with a seed every 2cm, lightly cover with fine compost and water.
- Thin out one plant in two when the young seedlings start to get overcrowded.


Care:
- Keep the soil damp.
- About three months after sowing, harvest the rounds of leaves as soon as they are ready making sure to keep the foot of the plant and not allow the plant to go to seed.
