Honey garlic - Allium Siculum (latin)

Adult size: Up to 60 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Light and well drained.
Climate: Hardy.
Position: Full light.

Characteristics and uses:
Honey garlic, or Mediterranean bells, offers an original umbrella-shaped flowering. Its bells are pink and white.
Plant the Allium bulbs between September and October in well-prepared soil; they should be planted at a depth of three times the size of the bulb. For the best effect, plant between 10 and 20 bulbs spaced 20cm apart.

Flowering takes place between May and July, it is a good idea to stake the tallest stems to stop them breaking in the wind. Remove the flowers as soon as they wither.
Alliums are ideal in borders, along a wall or in pots; they have many uses and produce a beautiful effect!
